Samphire Hoe

Samphire Hoe A20 Dover CT17 9FL

Samphire Hoe

Samphire is only reachable via the Dover to Folkestone side of the A20. If you are driving from the West then you must go past the turn off to a roundabout about three quarters of a mile past the turnoff, go right around the roundabout and head back towards Folkestone and you'll see a sign for the turn off.

And then the turnoff, there are traffic lights at the end of the road, so watch out for that as the tunnel through the cliff is only one way.

Parking

We've been allocated the overflow parking (the parallel green lines) and the rear car park (two circles). Please DO NOT park in the seaward car park and can a decent number of folk park in the overflow area... please. I appreciate it's a pain to walk 200 yards to base camp but the location are keen to leave some space in the cliffward parking area for random members of the public when the seaward parking gets full....

Please note parking is Pay & Display. (Currently £2 for an all day ticket)

Facilities

Although not visible in the overhead images there is in fact now a building at the base camp and we'll usually be set up in the "inside/out area" of this which is under cover although a little open to the elements.

Toilets are located around the circular structure you can see there and the pay and display parking machine is located on the southern side of here towards Car Park 2.

There is also a cafe here which is typically open from about 1000 to 1600.
